# Get set up Five stages, in order. Each one unlocks the next. Home shows where you are and what to do next. ## First, your brand Everything in YouGrow belongs to a brand. Make one from the brand switcher at the top of the sidebar with **Add Brand**, or [here](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brands/new). You need its name, your website (such as yourbrand.com) and a **Data region**. The region is where its data lives, and it can't be changed later. ## 1. Get ready About 30 minutes plus DNS time, once per brand. Do this before anything goes out. - [Verify your sending domain](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md) - [Add your sender details](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md): From address, privacy policy link and postal address - [Add your logo](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) and [set your brand voice](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) - [Style your emails](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-style.md) ## 2. Part of this is for your developer. - [Try a sandbox](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md) to see the whole flow first (optional) - [Connect your product](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md) and [learn it from your repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md) - [Hand the rest to your developer](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md), and wait for your first sign-up - [Invite your waitlist](https://yougrow.ai/help/invite-your-waitlist.md) ## 5. Onboard & retain Email each person about what they have and haven't done yet. - [Build an onboarding journey](https://yougrow.ai/help/onboarding-journeys.md) - [Test it on real people](https://yougrow.ai/help/onboarding-journeys.md) - [Switch it to live](https://yougrow.ai/help/onboarding-journeys.md) ## Where the order matters > **Important:** **Domain first.** Until it's verified, your emails come from a shared default address and no journey can go live. > **Important:** **Welcome email before you share your page.** Then everyone gets it from the start. Publish it later and YouGrow asks whether the people already on the list should get it too. > **Important:** **Journey before sign-ups flow.** A journey only takes people who signed up in the last 3 days, unless you widen that in its Settings. > **Important:** **Accounts before posts.** YouGrow won't schedule a LinkedIn or X post until its account is connected. ## Getting help ### Ask Vizzy Vizzy is the assistant inside YouGrow. Ask it "What should I set up first?" and it reads where you are. It drafts things for you, and nothing goes live until you publish it. ### Something not working? Start with [Why isn't this working?](https://yougrow.ai/help/troubleshooting.md) ### For developers Connecting your app is in the [developer docs](https://yougrow.ai/developers.md). They also work as instructions for a coding agent. Next: [Email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md) --- # Set up email sending Send every email from your own domain, with the footer details the law asks for. About 10 minutes, plus DNS time · Admins · Once per brand Before you start - Your brand in YouGrow - Access to your domain's DNS settings This unlocks - Sign-up, waitlist and invite emails from your own address - Journeys that send to real people > **Important:** Do this first. Until a domain is verified, your emails go out from the platform's shared default address, and no journey can go live. ## Verify your sending domain 1. Open [Settings › Sending](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account). 2. Under **Your domains**, type the domain you'll send from and press **Add domain**. A subdomain such as mail.yourbrand.com keeps email separate from your website. 3. Copy each DNS record it shows into your DNS provider. Each one has a copy button. 4. Press **Verify**. If a record isn't valid yet, DNS hasn't updated: wait a while and press it again. ## Add your sender details These are under **Default email sender** on the same page. Every launch and journey uses them unless you change them there. 1. Enter a **Sender name**, such as your brand or your team. 2. Choose your **From address**: the part before the @, and your verified domain. 3. Add a **Reply-to address** if replies should go somewhere else. 4. Add your **Privacy Policy URL**. Every email footer links to it. 5. Add your **Postal address**. Marketing emails are held without one. 6. Press **Save sender**. ## Check it worked - Your domain shows a tick against every DNS record. - The From address picker lists your domain. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Verify your sending domain" and "Add your sender details" are ticked. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Verify a domain first" | The From address picker needs a verified domain. Finish the first set of steps. | | "That doesn't look like a valid domain (e.g. mail.yourbrand.com)." | Type the domain only, with no https:// and no slash. | | "Enter a valid Privacy Policy URL (https://…)" | Use the full address of your privacy policy, starting https://. | | "Live sending needs a From address on a verified sending domain." | A journey tried to go live first. Finish this page, then switch the journey to live again. | | "Live verification needs an email provider (MANDRILL_API_KEY) configured." | Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to add an email provider key. If you run it yourself, see the setup guide in the repository. | Next: [Your brand](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) --- # Your brand Add your logo, colours and fonts, and write your brand voice, so everything Vizzy makes looks and sounds like you. About 15 minutes · Anyone on your team · Once per brand Before you start - Your logo as a PNG or JPG file - Your website as the brand's **Primary domain** (you added it when you made the brand) - Your brand guidelines PDF, if you have one This unlocks - Posts, articles and emails written in your voice - Your logo and colours on your emails, through [Email style](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-style.md) > **Important:** Reading a guidelines PDF adds the colours and fonts it finds to yours. It never removes or renames the ones you already have. ## Add your logo 1. Open [Brand › Logos](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/logos). 2. Press **Add logo** and pick your file. It can be up to 8 MB. 3. Your first logo becomes the **Primary**. To change it, press the three dots on another logo and choose **Set as primary**. Use a PNG or JPG. A WebP logo uploads, but your emails can't use it, because Outlook can't show it. ## Add your guidelines PDF (optional) 1. Open [Brand › Guidelines](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/guidelines). 2. Press **Upload brand guidelines (PDF)**. It can be up to 14MB. 3. Wait while it reads the file. It fills in the fields below, such as Colours, Fonts and Tone. 4. Fix anything that's wrong, then press **Save brand kit**. The tone and voice from your PDF guide images and email layouts. Written copy follows your brand voice. ## Add your colours 1. Open [Brand › Colours](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/colours). 2. Under **Build a palette**, press **Pull from website**. You can also try **Extract from PDF**, **Generate AI theme** or **From logo**. 3. Remove any colours you don't want, then press **Add to Colour palette**. 4. Name your main colour "Primary" and your button colour "Accent". Email style looks for these names. 5. Press **Save colours**. ## Set your fonts 1. Open [Brand › Fonts](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/fonts). 2. Click **Heading**, choose its **Font** and press the tick. Do the same for **Body**. Each one saves by itself. 3. Have your own font file? Press **+**, then **Upload a font**. WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 5 MB. Emails can use some of the listed fonts, but never a font you upload. Images can use a font you upload (TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2). Without one, they use the fonts your website uses, or the closest free font. Press Check my site under Found on your site to see which. ## Pick your image style Every image Vizzy makes starts from your image style: social posts, eBook images, email images and the hero image on every blog article. Anyone making an image can pick another style for that image only. 1. Open [Brand › Image style](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/image-style). 2. Pick a **Default style**. Drawn styles (Product noir, Headline card, Data story, Type poster, Split card, Line art) show your words exactly; painted styles show no words. 3. Under **Per channel**, give a channel its own style if you want one. 4. Choose your **Accent**, and whether social images carry your logo and the post's headline. 5. Press **Save**. Product noir is built from screens of your product. The first time you use it, you're asked for one to five screenshots, kept in [Brand › Screenshots](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/screenshots). Crop out customer names, emails and private numbers first. Data story draws a chart from numbers in your post or article. It only uses numbers written there, and never one the fact check couldn't trace. With fewer than two, you're asked to add yours, or it's made as a Type poster. Formats work in any style. Pick **Format** next to Style on a post, the hero card or the eBook cover: a **Portrait card** (someone's words, their name and role), a **Partner lockup** (your logo and a partner's name) or a **Report cover**. The picture is a painted scene: never a person, and never a partner's logo. ## Write your brand voice This is how your brand writes. Posts, articles, launch and journey emails and Vizzy's drafts all follow it. Once saved, it's used instead of any voice set on a single programme. 1. Open [Brand › Brand voice](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/voice). 2. Press **Generate with AI**. It reads your website and drafts a voice. 3. Edit the **Summary**, the **Do** and **Don't** lists (one per line) and the **Guidelines**. 4. Press **Save brand voice**. ## Add what your team has seen What we've seen holds your team's first-hand experience: customer stories, things you tested, mistakes you see, objections you hear, your own numbers, and where you disagree with common advice. A blog article uses a note when it fits the article's question, so it speaks from experience instead of only explaining. 1. Open [Brand › What we've seen](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/notes). 2. Answer the question under **Add a note**, in your own words. Press **Another question** for a different one. 3. Check the **Kind** and the **Subjects** it suggests, then press **Save note**. 4. Have a call transcript or a case study? Press **Paste a call or document**, tick the notes it finds and press **Add ticked**. The pasted text isn't kept. Write one story, test or result per note. Name a customer only if they agreed, and tick the box that says so; otherwise articles keep them anonymous. The panels beside your notes show which kinds you have least of, and which subjects on your brand map have no note yet. When none of your notes fits a blog article, the article asks your team questions. Each one is kept here as an open question, linked to the articles that asked it. Press **Open questions** to see them, and answer one in its box: it saves as you type, and every article that asked it can use the answer. Once answered, it is a note like any other, with its question above it. ## Check it worked - Brand › Logos shows your logo with a **Primary** badge. - Brand › Colours lists your colours under **Colour palette**. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Add your logo" and "Set your brand voice" are ticked. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP image." | Save your logo as a PNG or JPG and try again. | | "Set your Primary Domain in" | Open [Settings › Sending](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account), enter your website under **Primary domain** and press **Save**. Then try again. | | "Couldn't generate a brand voice" | Press Generate with AI again, or write the voice yourself. | | "Couldn’t find colours from that source" | Try another source, or add colours by hand with + Add colour. | | "That PDF is too large (max 14MB)." | Upload a smaller copy of the PDF, or fill in the fields by hand. | | "Extraction failed" | Press Re-extract, try another PDF, or fill in the fields by hand. | | "is built from screens of your product" | Press Add screenshots, or Make it without a screenshot, or pick another style. | | "Can't be used in images. Upload it as TTF, OTF or WOFF." | Upload the same font as a TTF, OTF or WOFF file. | Next: [Email style](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-style.md) --- # Email style Give your emails your logo, colours and fonts. Set it once and every branded email wears it. About 5 minutes · Admins · Once per brand Before you start - A PNG or JPG logo in [Brand › Logos](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) - Your colours in [Brand › Colours](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) This unlocks - Your look on welcome, invite, newsletter and journey emails - The same look on sign-up confirmation and offboarding emails > **Important:** Add your logo and colours first. **Use brand kit** fills this page from them, so it can only use what's there. ## Start from your brand kit 1. Open [Brand › Email style](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/email-style). 2. Press **Use brand kit**. It picks your primary logo and your brand colours. 3. Read any notes it shows, then check the **Preview**. 4. Press **Save**. You can also ask Vizzy to suggest a style. It shows as a banner on this page: press **Review**, check the preview, then **Save**. Or press **Dismiss**. ## Change the header and buttons 1. Under **Header**, choose **Colour** (your logo and name on a colour) or **Image** (a full-width banner of your own). 2. For Colour, pick a **Logo** or **No logo**. Add a **Company name** only if your logo doesn't show it. 3. Pick a **Header colour**. Tick **Gradient** to fade it into **Colour 2**. 4. For Image, press **Upload a banner** and pick a PNG or JPG, up to 1 MB. 5. Pick a **Button colour**. Links use it too when it's dark enough to read. 6. Press **Save**. Outlook and Gmail on Android show the header colour alone, with no gradient, so make sure it works by itself. ## Pick a theme and fonts 1. Under **Theme**, pick a look: **Classic**, **Modern**, **Editorial** or **Friendly**. 2. Press **Use brand fonts** to take your Heading and Body fonts from Brand › Fonts. Or choose a **Heading font** and **Body font** yourself. 3. Switch the preview between **As Apple Mail sees it** and **As Gmail & Outlook.com see it**. Those two inboxes show standard fonts instead. 4. Press **Save**. ## Give one journey its own colours A journey can have its own header and button colours. Its logo, name and theme stay your brand's. 1. Open the journey from [Journeys](https://yougrow.ai/admin/lifecycle) and go to its **Settings** tab. 2. Under **Email style**, choose **Custom for this journey**. 3. Pick its **Header colour** and **Button colour**. 4. Press **Publish**. Every email the journey sends from then on uses the new colours. ## Check it worked - After you save, the page says "Saved. Branded emails use this style from now on." - The preview shows your header and button colours. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Style your emails" is ticked. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Only admins can change the Email style." | Ask an admin on your team to make the change. | | "No logos yet" | Add a PNG or JPG logo in [Brand › Logos](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/logos), then press **Use brand kit** again. | | "Your primary logo is WebP, which Outlook can't show" | Upload a PNG or JPG copy of your logo in Brand › Logos and set it as primary. Then press Use brand kit again. | | "No brand fonts yet" | In [Brand › Fonts](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/fonts), choose a font for Heading and Body. Then press **Use brand fonts** again. | | "isn't available for email yet" | Emails can't use that font. Pick the closest one from the Heading font or Body font list. | | "The image is over 1 MB" | Save the banner smaller, or as a JPG, and upload it again. | Next: [Launch and waitlist](https://yougrow.ai/help/launch-and-waitlist.md) --- # Launch and waitlist Create a waitlist, greet everyone who joins, then share it. About 15 minutes · Admins · Once per launch Before you start - Your brand in YouGrow - [Email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md) set up, so emails come from your own address This unlocks - A hosted waitlist page, and a widget for your own site - A welcome email for everyone who joins - Inviting your waitlist into your product later > **Important:** Turn on the welcome email before you share your page, so everyone gets it from the start. If people are already on the list when you first publish it, YouGrow asks whether they should get it too. ## Create a launch 1. Open [Launches](https://yougrow.ai/admin/launches) and press **New launch**. 2. Type a **Launch name**. It's the headline on your waitlist page. 3. Leave **URL slug** blank to make one from the name. Your page lives at /waitlist/ plus the slug, and the slug can't be changed later. 4. Choose the **Required contact detail**. EMAIL suits most launches. 5. Set **Spots skipped per referral**: how far someone moves up for each friend who joins. 6. Tick **Require email verification (double opt-in)** if people should confirm their email first. 7. Press **Create launch**. Your launch opens on its Overview, with a **Launch checklist**. Only **verified** signups get the welcome email, broadcasts (one-off emails from the Emails tab) and invites. With double opt-in on, people are verified once they confirm their email. With it off, everyone is verified as soon as they join. ## Turn on the welcome email Every new launch starts with a draft welcome journey. Nothing sends until you publish it. 1. Open your launch, then the **Emails** tab. 2. Next to **Welcome & nurture**, press **Set it up**. 3. On the **Content** tab, press **Content pool**. Write the email's **Subject** and body. 4. On the **Canvas** tab, press **Email**. Under **Sends from**, choose the content you wrote. 5. Connect **Trigger** to the email, and the email to **End**. Delete the old line from Trigger straight to End. 6. Press **Save draft**, then **Publish**, and confirm. 7. If people are already on the list, YouGrow asks whether they should get it too. Choose **Send to them too** or **Only people who join from now**. If Publish is refused, the editor lists what to fix above its tabs. Rather have Vizzy write it? Ask Vizzy (⌘J) for welcome emails for this launch. Vizzy saves a draft for you to check here, and it shows in Review. It never publishes. ## Share your waitlist 1. Open your launch, then the **Page & widget** tab. 2. To share the hosted page, choose **Hosted** and press **Copy link**. Post it anywhere. 3. To put the form on your own site, choose **Full**, **Mini** or **Docked**. Press **Copy** next to **Embed snippet** and paste it into your page. 4. Embedded it? On the launch's **Settings** tab, paste that page's full address into **Waitlist URL**, so referral links point to your site. Press **Save changes**. 5. Back on **Page & widget**, open **Social**. Write a **Share message**, pick the share buttons people see after joining, and press **Save**. Your referral reward is **Spots skipped per referral**, under **Gamification** on the Settings tab. Keep it above 0 so people move up when friends join. ## Check it worked - On the Overview, the checklist ticks "Publish your waitlist", "Turn on the welcome email" and "Offer a referral reward". - The **Emails** tab shows **Welcome & nurture** as **Live**. - Join from your own hosted page. The welcome email arrives (confirm your email first if double opt-in is on). - **Total signups** and **Verified** on the Overview go up. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Launch name is required." | Type a Launch name, then press Create launch again. | | "use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens" | The URL slug can only use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Or leave it blank. | | "This launch's emails come from a shared default address until you verify your sending domain." | Verify your domain in [Email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md). Until then, your welcome and invite emails don't come from you. | | "Add at least one email." | The welcome journey has no email yet. Add one on the Canvas tab, or ask Vizzy to draft it. | | "Fix the issues listed before publishing." | Open the list above the tabs, fix each item, then press Publish again. | | "Until then, your emails come from a shared default address." | Your sending domain isn't verified yet. See [Email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md). | Next: [Programmes and knowledge](https://yougrow.ai/help/programmes-and-knowledge.md) --- # Programmes and knowledge A programme is one line of content, such as a newsletter or a LinkedIn series. Its knowledge is what Vizzy writes from. About 10 minutes, plus reading time · Anyone on your team · Once per programme Before you start - Your website's address - Your brand voice, if you have it ([Your brand](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md)) This unlocks - Drafts that use your own facts and words - Research for your brand map - Studies and reports your blog articles can cite > **Important:** Add knowledge before you write. Without it, drafts are generic, and the draft wizard only shows a quiet hint ("No vectorized sources yet") and carries on. ## Create a content programme 1. Open [Content](https://yougrow.ai/admin/workspace). 2. Press **+ New programme**. 3. Type a **Programme name**, such as "Weekly newsletter". Add a description if you like. 4. Press **Create programme**. It opens on its **Overview**. 5. Open the **Settings** tab. Tick the **Authority topics** you want to be known for, describe your **Audience**, and press **Save**. ## Add knowledge Open your programme, then the **Knowledge** tab. Each source is read and tagged, so any draft in this programme can use it. 1. In the first list, choose **Website (crawl)**. Paste your website's address, starting https://. 2. If you like, pick a **Topic** and type tags, pressing Enter after each. You can narrow what a draft reads by topic later. 3. Press **Ingest**. Its status moves from pending to done. 4. For one document or page, such as a pricing page or a help article, choose **Docs / page** instead. Knowledge reads web addresses, not uploaded files. 5. For code, choose **GitHub repo** or **GitLab repo** and paste the repo's address. Add a branch if you want one. A private repo needs your account connected first ([Connected accounts](https://yougrow.ai/help/connected-accounts.md)). If a **Connect** link shows under the address, press it. ## Mark a web source to cite A cite source is a study, report or page of data your blog articles may quote, alongside what a web search finds. Only web pages can be cited, not repos. 1. Choose **Docs / page** and paste the page's address. 2. Tick **Cite source**. **This page only** ticks too, so nothing else on that site is read. 3. Press **Ingest**. 4. To cite a source you added earlier, press **Cite in articles** on it once it's read. **Stop citing** undoes it. A cite source on someone else's site is used as evidence only, never as what you say about yourself. ## Check it worked - Each source shows done and a number of chunks. - Under **Test retrieval**, type a question about your product and press **Test**. Passages from your site come back. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Add your website to its knowledge" is ticked. - If a source stays pending for a long time, whoever runs your YouGrow needs to check its ingestion worker. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "That URL isn't allowed (https only; git sources must be github.com / gitlab.com)." | Use the full address, starting https://. A repo must be on github.com or gitlab.com. | | "That source is already ingested." | Nothing to do. To read it again, press Re-ingest on the source. | | "That repo isn't selected on your connection, so it's ingested without access" | Choose the repo on your GitHub or GitLab connection in Settings › Integrations, then press Re-ingest. Until then only a public repo can be read. | | "Too many ingestions in progress" | Wait for some sources to finish, then try again. | | "Wait until this source has finished being read." | Press Cite in articles again once the source shows done. | | "Couldn't start the ingestion worker." | Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to check its ingestion worker. Then press Re-ingest on the source. | Next: [Brand map](https://yougrow.ai/help/brand-map.md) --- # Brand map One set of names and subjects that every blog article is written from, so each one describes you the same way. About 15 minutes · Admins · Once, then whenever you add subjects Before you start - Your website as the **Primary domain** in [Settings › Sending](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account) - A programme with your website in its knowledge ([Add knowledge](https://yougrow.ai/help/programmes-and-knowledge.md)) This unlocks - Blog articles that use your names, subjects and pages - Buying situations your articles are written for - **Write this next** on every question you haven't answered yet > **Important:** Blog articles use your brand map only once it's saved. Research only drafts it: check it, then press **Save brand map**. ## Research your brand 1. Open [Brand › Brand map](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/map). 2. Press **Research my brand**. It reads your site and your knowledge, searches how people talk about your category, and drafts the map. This takes about a minute. 3. No research button? Press **Fill it in yourself**. Research isn't switched on for your YouGrow, and whoever runs it can turn it on. ## Review and save 1. On **Who you are**, check **What you are**: your category as buyers say it, one sentence, what you are not, and names to avoid. 2. Check **Names you use**: your products, alternatives and audiences, each linked to its page on your site. 3. Under **Suggestions**, untick anything wrong. Press **Add ticked**, then **Dismiss the rest**. 4. Press **Save brand map**. 5. Open **Subjects**. New subjects from research wait under **Proposed**. Press **Add** or **Dismiss** on each. Changes on this tab save straight away. ## Add buying situations A buying situation is the moment that sends someone looking for something like you. Articles open by meeting the reader there. 1. Open **Buying situations** and press **Find buying situations**. 2. If you like, say what made your last few customers start looking. Press **Find them**. This takes about a minute. 3. Untick any that don't fit, then press **Add ticked**. 4. To write one yourself, press **Add a situation**. 5. To get what people in a situation ask, open it and press **Find what they ask**. This takes up to a minute. Add the questions that fit and dismiss the rest. A question on a subject that isn't on your map yet brings its subject with it. ## Import research from a PDF 1. Open **Your research**. 2. Choose a PDF of 14 MB at most, such as screenshots of Google's "People also ask". 3. Press **Read it**. This takes about a minute. 4. The report shows what's new, what's on your map already and what doesn't fit. New questions arrive ticked: press **Add ticked**. The PDF isn't kept. Only what it found is. ## Write this next A question no page answers yet shows as Open, with a **Write this next** button. It starts a blog article in your programme's **Drafts**, with the question filled in. The button only shows once you have a programme. ## Check it worked - The line above the map reads "All changes saved." - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Save your brand map" is ticked. - A new blog draft offers your subjects under **Subject (optional)**. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "There's nothing to research from yet: add your website in Settings, or a source in a programme's knowledge." | Set your Primary domain in Settings › Sending, or add your website to a programme's Knowledge. Then research again. | | "Not saved yet: articles are written without it until you save." | Press Save brand map. | | "None of your programmes has crawled your site yet, so no subject or name has a home page." | Add your website as Website (crawl) in a programme's Knowledge. When it shows done, press Research again. | | "The brand map was changed elsewhere since you opened it." | Press Load the latest to see their version, or Save mine anyway to keep yours. | | "That PDF is too large (14 MB at most)." | Split it into smaller PDFs and read each one. | | "The AI model isn't set up in this environment, so research can't run." | Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to set up the AI model. Until then, fill the map in yourself. | Next: [Write and schedule](https://yougrow.ai/help/write-and-schedule.md) --- # Write and schedule Draft posts, articles and newsletters with Vizzy, then put them on your calendar. About 15 minutes for your first draft · Anyone on your team · Every week Before you start - A programme with knowledge ([Programmes and knowledge](https://yougrow.ai/help/programmes-and-knowledge.md)) - LinkedIn or X connected, to post ([Connected accounts](https://yougrow.ai/help/connected-accounts.md)) - A launch, for the newsletter ([Launch and waitlist](https://yougrow.ai/help/launch-and-waitlist.md)) This unlocks - Posts that go out on LinkedIn or X at the time you pick - A weekly newsletter to your waitlist > **Important:** Connect LinkedIn or X before you schedule. YouGrow won't schedule a post until the account it goes out from is connected. ## Write a draft 1. Open your programme, then **Drafts**. If the wizard isn't open, press **+ New workflow**. 2. **Strategy**: type a **Workflow name** and pick an **Objective**. Press **Next**. 3. **Scope**: pick your **Authority topics** and write the **Spark**, the point you want to make. Press **Next**. 4. **Knowledge**: leave **Global** to use all of the programme's knowledge. Press **Next**. 5. **Topology**: choose a **Hub channel** (Newsletter or Blog) and the **Spoke channels** to post on. Press **Build workflow**. 6. On the canvas, press **Generate hub**. Click the hub, read it, then press **Approve**. 7. Press **Generate spokes & promos**. Read each one and approve the ones you'll use. For a **Blog (SEO/GEO)** hub, **Generate hub** first researches what buyers ask on the web and in your cite sources, then writes the article and checks its facts. It follows your brand map once the map is saved. Under **Export**, press **Copy Markdown** or **Copy HTML** to put it on your site. Blog articles are written the way a practitioner writes: the answer first, the trade-offs and the common mistakes, and your brand kept to the margins. In the hub's **Brief**, **What we've seen** shows the notes from [your team's experience](https://yougrow.ai/help/your-brand.md) that fit the article's question; remove any that don't belong. When nothing fits, it asks your team up to three questions. Press **+** beside one to answer it in its own box. The answer saves as you type: once it says **Saved to What we've seen**, it is one of your team's notes. Every question is kept on What we've seen too, answered or not, linked to the article, so another article that needs the same answer can ask it again. Under **Publisher**, add the author's role and a short bio for the byline and the author box at the end. You can also ask Vizzy. Press **Ask Vizzy** in the sidebar and say what you want, such as "Draft a LinkedIn series about our launch". Vizzy only drafts. You approve, schedule and publish. ## Schedule posts 1. Connect LinkedIn or X in [Settings › Integrations](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account/connections). 2. Open your programme, then **Calendar**. 3. Under **Ready to schedule**, find the post. A post shows here once it's generated. 4. For LinkedIn, choose who to **Post as**, if that choice shows. 5. Pick a date and time in your own time zone and press **Schedule**. The list shows times in UTC. 6. To move or stop a post, press **Reschedule** or **Cancel** on it. Only LinkedIn and X posts go out for you. Other items are marked done at their time, so publish those yourself. ## Send the weekly newsletter It goes to people on a launch's waitlist who reached the weekly newsletter step of its welcome journey. If nobody has yet, YouGrow tells you and sends nothing. 1. Open your launch, then **Emails**, and press **Edit journey**. On an Exit step, tick **Then add them to the weekly newsletter**. On an older journey, press **Add exit**, then **Subscribe to the weekly newsletter**. Press **Publish**. 2. Write a draft with a **Newsletter** hub and generate it. 3. On your programme's **Overview**, press **Send this week's newsletter**. 4. Press **Send this week** on the newsletter you want. 5. Check the **Subject line** and the launch. Press **Send now**, or pick a time under **Schedule for later** and press **Schedule**. ## Check it worked - A scheduled post shows pending and its time. After that time it shows done and published (linkedin) or published (x). - A LinkedIn or X post that says published (manual) wasn't posted. Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to switch on live posting. - The newsletter shows on the Calendar. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Schedule your first post" and "Send a newsletter to your waitlist" are ticked. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Give this workflow a name." | Type a Workflow name on the Strategy step. | | "Research didn't finish. Pick a later one, or leave it empty to send now. | | "Couldn't save. Your text is kept; it tries again as you type." | Check your connection and keep typing, or click outside the box. Anything not saved yet is saved before the article is written. | Next: [Connected accounts](https://yougrow.ai/help/connected-accounts.md) --- # Connected accounts Connect LinkedIn or X so your scheduled posts publish on time. Connect GitHub or GitLab only if your code is in a private repo. About 5 minutes · Anyone on your team · Once per brand Before you start - The LinkedIn or X account you post from - For a LinkedIn Company Page: you're an admin of that Page on LinkedIn - For GitHub: you can install apps on the account or organisation that owns the code, or know who can This unlocks - Scheduled posts that publish themselves - Knowledge and **Learn from repo** from a private repo > **Important:** Connect before you schedule. YouGrow won't schedule a LinkedIn or X post until its account is connected. ## Connect LinkedIn or X 1. Open [Settings › Integrations](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account/connections). 2. Find the account you post from: **LinkedIn** for your own profile, **LinkedIn Pages** for a Company Page, or **X (Twitter)**. 3. Press **Connect**. A new window opens. 4. Sign in and allow access. When the window says it's connected, close it. With a Page connected, each LinkedIn post has a **Post as** list. Choose your profile or the Page there when you schedule. ## Connect GitHub or GitLab YouGrow reads code for a programme's [knowledge](https://yougrow.ai/help/programmes-and-knowledge.md) and for [Learn from repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md). A public repo needs nothing here. A private one needs a connection. Access is read only: YouGrow never changes your code. 1. Open [Settings › Integrations](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account/connections). 2. Next to **GitHub**, press **Install on GitHub (read-only)**. 3. On GitHub, choose the account or organisation that owns your code. 4. Under **Repository access**, choose **Only select repositories** and pick your repos. 5. Press **Install**, then close the window when it says it's connected. Using GitLab? Press **Connect** next to **GitLab** and allow access. It's read only too. In an organisation you don't own, GitHub shows **Request** instead of Install. Once an owner approves it, press **Install on GitHub (read-only)** again. To change which repos YouGrow can read, use **Add or remove repositories on GitHub**. More detail is in [Connecting your code](https://yougrow.ai/developers/connect-your-code.md). ## Check it worked - Each account you connected says **Connected as** and your account name. GitHub and GitLab also show **Read-only**. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), "Connect LinkedIn or X" is ticked, and "Connect GitHub" too if you connected it. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Not set up on this YouGrow yet." | Whoever runs your YouGrow hasn't added this service's app keys yet. Ask them to. | | "Connect LinkedIn to publish this post" | A post was due before LinkedIn was connected. Then reschedule the post. | | "Connect X to publish this post" | Connect X (Twitter), then pick a new time on the post and press Reschedule. | | "Request sent" | Your GitHub organisation's owners must approve the app. Once one does, press Install on GitHub (read-only) again. | | "This older connection can also write to your repos." | Press Switch now to move to the read-only YouGrow app. | Next: [Connect your product](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md) --- # Connect your product Tell YouGrow about your app and the steps of getting started in it, then hand the coding to your developer. About 15 minutes, plus your developer's time · Admins · Once per product Before you start - Your app's code on GitHub or GitLab - A developer who can change your app's server This unlocks - Onboarding journeys for your product's users - A page for each user in Audience - Inviting your waitlist into your product > **Important:** Learn your steps, with your app's web address, before you build a journey. Without steps, the 7-day journey can't be published. Without the address, the buttons in its emails have no link. ## Try a sandbox first A sandbox is a pretend product with a demo catalog and one test user: you. Try a journey on it before anyone writes code. It doesn't count as your product, on Home or for invites. 1. Open [Products](https://yougrow.ai/admin/products) and press **Create sandbox**. 2. Press **Create**, then **Open the sandbox**. 3. On the **Sandbox** tab, your test user has your sign-in email. To change it, edit it and press **Save test users**. It must be yours or on your verified domain. 4. [Build a journey](https://yougrow.ai/help/onboarding-journeys.md) on the sandbox and publish it. 5. Back on the **Sandbox** tab, press **Signed up**, then a step, to act as your product. ## Connect a product 1. On [Products](https://yougrow.ai/admin/products), press **Connect a product**. 2. Type a **Name**, such as your app's name. 3. Under **Which copy of your product is this?**, choose **Staging**, **Production** or **Not sure yet**. Have both? Connect staging first, to test safely. 4. Press **Create**. 5. Copy the key id and the secret into your password manager, to share with your developer. The secret is shown only once. 6. Tick **I've stored the secret somewhere safe**, press **Next**, then **Learn from my repo**. ## Learn your steps from your repo YouGrow reads your code and suggests your onboarding steps, events and facts. It never changes your code. 1. On the product's **Learn from repo** tab, press **Connect GitHub** and choose the repositories it may read. On GitLab, or a public repo? Press **Add a repository by address (GitLab or public)** instead. 2. Tick up to 3, such as your web app and your backend, and press **Learn from repo**. It takes a few minutes, and you can leave the page. 3. Read what it found. The trusted items are already ticked. Untick anything that's wrong. 4. Under **Add to the catalog**, type **Your app's web address**, such as https://app.yourproduct.com. This turns each step into a link in your emails. 5. Press **Add selected to the catalog**. The **Catalog** tab opens with what you kept. No steps found? Run it again on the repository that holds your sign-up and setup, or add the steps yourself on the **Catalog** tab. In a company's GitHub organisation, an owner may need to approve the app first. See [how connecting works](https://yougrow.ai/developers/connect-your-code.md). ## What to send your developer 1. The key id and secret, through your password manager. 2. The prompt from **Copy prompt** on the **Integration guide** tab. A coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor can work from it. It has no secrets in it. 3. The [developer docs](https://yougrow.ai/developers.md). Sign-ups come first: without them, no journey sends anything. Each sign-up should include consent, or only the welcome email goes out. Steps come next. The guide lists every task in that order, and says what happens if it's skipped. Details: [sending users](https://yougrow.ai/developers/users.md). The **Setup** tab ticks each part off as it arrives. ## Test the context endpoint (optional) Only for emails that tell people what their own results mean. Your developer builds the [context endpoint](https://yougrow.ai/developers/context-endpoint.md) and adds its address on the **Settings** tab, with **Enabled** ticked. 1. On the **Test connection** tab, type one user's id, as your app knows them. 2. Press **Test connection**. A good answer starts "Valid context in" and lists their steps, facts and insight sentences. ## Check it worked - The **Setup** tab ticks **Learn your product from its repo** and **Receive your users' sign-ups and steps**. - The **Events** tab lists what your app sends. Refused writes show under **Recent rejections**, with the reason. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), Launch product says "Receiving events". ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "That isn't a GitHub or GitLab repository address (e.g. github.com/your-org/your-app)." | Paste the repository's address, such as github.com/your-org/your-app. | | "Your app's address must start with https://." | Type the full address, starting https://. | | "Repo analysis isn't set up in this environment yet." | Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to set it up. Until then, add your steps on the Catalog tab. | | "No context endpoint is set up (or it's disabled)" | Add its address on the Settings tab, tick Enabled and press Save settings. | Next: [Invite your waitlist](https://yougrow.ai/help/invite-your-waitlist.md) --- # Invite your waitlist Bring people from the top of your waitlist into your product, one wave at a time. About 10 minutes · Admins · Each time you have room for more people Before you start - A launch with verified signups - Your production app connected. See [Connect your product](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md). - The address of your app's sign-up page This unlocks - Invite emails with a personal link into your product - Who signed up and who finished onboarding, for every wave > **Important:** Sending can't be undone. Each person leaves the waitlist as their invite goes out. Start with a small wave, and send a test to yourself first. ## Unlock invites At the top of your launch, **Invite waitlist to product** stays locked until your product is ready. The reason shows under the button. These steps clear the usual ones. 1. Open [Products](https://yougrow.ai/admin/products) and open your app. A sandbox doesn't count. 2. Go to its **Settings** tab. Check **Environment** isn't **Staging**. Invites only go to production. 3. In **Allowed link domains**, add your app's domain, such as app.yourproduct.com. 4. In **Sign-up link**, paste the page where new people sign up. It must start with https:// and be on an allowed link domain. 5. Press **Save settings**. Used **Learn from repo**? Its **Your app's web address** field adds the domain for you. You still add the sign-up link yourself. ## Send a wave 1. Open your launch and press **Invite waitlist to product**. 2. Press **New invite wave**. 3. Choose the **Product**. The line under it shows where people land. 4. Set **How many people**. They come from the top of the waitlist, best rank first. 5. Leave **Skip people who already use the product** ticked. 6. Check **Invite links work for (days)**, the **Subject** and the **Email**. Keep `{{invite_link}}` in the email: it becomes the button. 7. Press **Preview** to see how many people it would invite. Press **Send a test to me** to check the email. 8. Press **Send invites**, then confirm. Only verified people are invited. A wave skips anyone already invited from this launch and anyone without an email address. Vizzy can draft a wave for you: it shows as **Drafted by Vizzy** and waits for you to send it. ## Check it worked - The wave shows how many people were invited, signed up and activated. - The funnel at the top counts **Invited**, **Signed up** and **Activated**. The last two come from your product's events, so your product must send them. - Invited people move to **Offboarded** on the launch's **Signups** tab. - On the Overview, the checklist ticks "Invite your waitlist when the product is ready". ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Connect your product first." | Connect your app on [Products](https://yougrow.ai/admin/products). See [Connect your product](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md). | | "Connect your production app" | Your only connection is staging. Connect your live app, or set its Environment to Production on its Settings tab. | | "Add your app's sign-up link in Products › Settings." | Follow the Unlock invites steps above. | | "Invite links aren't set up yet." | Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to set an invite link signing key (INVITE_LINK_SIGNING_KEY). Test it on real people, then switch it to live. About 20 minutes, then a few days of testing · Admins · Once per product Before you start - [Your product connected](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md), with onboarding steps in its catalog - To go live: [email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md) set up This unlocks - A welcome, reminders and tips for every new user - Journeys that follow on from another, or start when someone goes quiet > **Important:** Publish it before your developer starts sending sign-ups. A journey only takes people who signed up in the last 72 hours. To reach further back, raise **Ignore events older than (hours)** on its **Settings** tab, up to 720. ## Build it from the 7-day template 1. Open [Journeys](https://yougrow.ai/admin/lifecycle) and press **New journey**. A product journey needs a connected product or a sandbox first. 2. If it asks who enters it, choose **Users of a connected product**. 3. Pick your **Product**. Keep **Start from** on **7-day onboarding (splits on progress)**. 4. Press **Create draft**. The template sends a welcome 15 minutes after sign-up. Then it emails the next business morning, and on about days 3, 5 and 7. People who have finished onboarding get an education email. The rest get a reminder. Change the words on the **Content** tab and the timing on the **Canvas** tab. Press **Save draft** as you go. **Timeline preview** shows when each email would arrive. ## Publish it in test mode A new journey starts in test mode: only the test users you list join, and they get real emails. 1. On the **Delivery** tab, under **Test users**, add your own user id or email address in your app, one per line. A sandbox's test users are already there. 2. Press **Save delivery settings**. 3. Press **Publish** and confirm. If it lists things to fix before publishing, fix those first. 4. Sign up to your app as a test user. Or enter someone by hand with **Enrol someone now** on the **People** tab. Then try **Shadow** on the **Delivery** tab. Everyone moves through the journey, but every email goes to your **Shadow inbox** instead, saying who it was for. ## Switch it to live Live sends real emails to everyone who signs up. First, check that: - Your From address is on a verified sending domain, in [Settings › Sending](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account). - Your postal address is saved there too. Marketing emails are held without one. - Your app sends consent with each sign-up. Without it, only the welcome email goes out. 1. On the **Delivery** tab, choose **Live**. 2. Press **Save delivery settings**. People already in the journey keep the mode they started in. Changed an email? Press **Publish** again. People already in it stay on their version. ## Follow-on journeys and quiet users These two start without a sign-up. If you can't see their options, whoever runs your YouGrow hasn't switched them on. ### A journey that continues from another 1. Press **New journey** and pick the first journey under **Starts after another journey?** 2. Keep **Follow-on sequence (4 emails, 3 days apart)** and press **Create draft**. People join when they reach the end of the first journey, and its waits count from then. Nobody finishes the first journey until it's live. ### A journey for people who go quiet Your catalog needs a date fact, such as when someone was last active. Your developer sends it. 1. On the journey's **Settings** tab, under **Starts when**, pick the date in **Or when a date passes**. 2. Set **Start when it was at least (days ago)**. The default is 14. 3. Leave **Stop when the date moves on** ticked, so people who come back get no more of it. A daily check from 07:00 UTC lets people in. **Check now** on the **People** tab runs it at once. In a sandbox, try it with **Went quiet 15 days ago** on the **Sandbox** tab. ## Check it worked - Under the journey's name, the badges say active and test, then live. - The **People** tab lists everyone who has joined. - On [Home](https://yougrow.ai/admin), Onboard & retain says "In test mode", then "Live". ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "An email shows the onboarding checklist or next step, but this product has no onboarding steps yet." | Add steps with [Learn from repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md), then make a new journey from the template. | | "Add at least one branch." | The journey was made before your product had steps. Add them, then make a new journey from the template. | | "The journey must be published and active." | Press Publish. If it's paused, press Resume. | | "In test mode only listed test users can be enrolled." | Add them under Test users on the Delivery tab, or switch to shadow. | | "Live sending needs a From address on a verified sending domain." | Finish [email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md), then choose Live again. | Next: [Review and approvals](https://yougrow.ai/help/review-and-approvals.md) --- # Review and approvals One place for every decision waiting on you. Vizzy drafts. You decide what goes out. A few minutes a day · Admins · Whenever Review shows a count Before you start - Admin access to your brand - For AI lines: a connected product that sends an insight for each person This unlocks - Vizzy's drafts going live, once you've checked them - Personal AI lines in your journey emails > **Important:** AI lines have a deadline. They appear about 12 hours before their email is due, and anything you don't decide in time goes out as the standard version. ## What lands in Review Open [Review](https://yougrow.ai/admin/approvals) in the sidebar. Each item links to where you act on it. - **AI lines for upcoming emails**: personal lines waiting for approval. - **Posts that need you**: scheduled posts that couldn't publish. - **Connection problems**: your product's context endpoint keeps failing. - **Drafts from Vizzy**: journeys, welcome emails, invite waves and content plans. - **Learned from your repo**: steps, events and facts to accept into your catalog. - **Brand map suggestions** and **Content waiting for approval**. ## Check Vizzy's drafts Vizzy only ever saves drafts. It never publishes a journey, sends an invite or turns anything on. That stays with you. 1. Under **Drafts from Vizzy**, press **Open**. 2. Read the draft and change anything you like. 3. When you're happy, publish it, send it or approve it on that page. It then leaves Review. ## Approve AI lines An email in a product journey can carry one personal line, written from that person's own results. Turn it on per email: on the journey's **Content** tab, set **AI line** to **Reviewed**. Numbers only ever come from your product's insight. The AI line can't add any. 1. In Review, start with **AI lines for upcoming emails**. It always comes first. 2. Read the product's insight and the AI line after it. Press **Preview** to see the whole email. 3. Edit the line or the subject if you need to. 4. Press **Approve** (**Save & approve** after an edit). Or choose **Use standard version** or **Skip this email**. An approved line goes out only if the insight is still current and the line still passes the checks. Otherwise the standard version sends. If a line is marked **backfill**, nothing sends to that person unless you approve it or choose the standard version. ## Check it worked - When everything is handled, Review says "Nothing needs you right now." - The count next to **Review** in the sidebar goes down. - On the AI lines' **Decided** tab, each line shows what happened, such as "Sent with the AI line". ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Nothing waiting. What's ahead follows what your product last said, so it can change. - **Emails**: every email, newest first, marked **Opened** or **Clicked**. A skipped email is crossed out, with the reason. - **In the product**: their onboarding steps, with the next one marked, and the facts your product sent. - **Consent and opt-outs**: whether marketing email is allowed. Opens and clicks need tracking, on the journey's **Settings** tab. A journey published before tracking was on shows "Opens not tracked" until you publish it again. Admins can also press **Run next step now** for a test or shadow entry, **Stop** a journey for them, or **Add to a journey**. ## Check it worked - A test user you just signed up appears on the Product users tab. - Their page shows the journey they're in and when their next email goes out. ## If you see this | If you see | What to do | | --- | --- | | "Not in any journey." | See [Nobody joins my journey](https://yougrow.ai/help/troubleshooting.md). | | "No marketing consent" | Your product didn't send consent for them, so marketing emails are skipped. Find what you're seeing. Each one says why it happens and how to fix it. ## My emails come from an address that isn't mine Your sending domain isn't verified yet, or your From address isn't on it. Until then, emails go out from a shared default address. [Set up email sending](https://yougrow.ai/help/email-sending.md). ## My welcome email went to everyone on my waitlist When you first publish a launch's welcome email with people already on the list, YouGrow asks whether they should get it too. **Send to them too** sends it to everyone already verified, and it can't be called back. Choose **Only people who join from now** to leave them out. [Turn on the welcome email](https://yougrow.ai/help/launch-and-waitlist.md). ## Blog articles ignore my brand map Your brand map isn't saved. Until it is, articles are written without it. Press **Save brand map** in [Brand › Brand map](https://yougrow.ai/admin/brand-kit/map). Articles already written stay as they are. ## My post failed The post on your programme's **Calendar** tab says why. Usually the account was disconnected before it was due, or its connection expired: [Review](https://yougrow.ai/admin/approvals) shows "Connect LinkedIn to publish this post" or the same for X. Connect it in [Settings › Integrations](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account/connections), then press **Reschedule**. If it says LinkedIn or X may have posted it, check there first so it doesn't go out twice. ## My weekly newsletter didn't send Nobody on that launch has reached the weekly newsletter step of its welcome journey yet, so there was nobody to send it to. YouGrow says so when you press Send or Schedule. [Send the weekly newsletter](https://yougrow.ai/help/write-and-schedule.md). ## My sandbox doesn't count as my product That's on purpose: a sandbox is only for trying things. Home leaves "Connect your product" unticked, and invites can't go to it. [Connect your real app](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md). ## Learn from repo found no onboarding steps It read a repository without your sign-up and setup flow. Run it again on the one that has it, or add the steps yourself on the product's **Catalog** tab. [Learn from repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md). ## I lost my product's secret It's shown only once. Press **Rotate secret** on the product's **Settings** tab in [Products](https://yougrow.ai/admin/products). The old one keeps working for 24 hours, while your developer swaps it. ## No users arrive from my app Open the product's **Events** tab. Empty means your developer hasn't sent anything yet. Anything refused is under **Recent rejections**, with the reason. Each user must be sent before their events: [sending users](https://yougrow.ai/developers/users.md). ## I can't invite my waitlist The locked button says why: - "Connect your product first." Connect your real app. A sandbox doesn't count. - "Connect your production app". Invites go to production, not staging. - "Add your app's sign-up link in Products › Settings." Add it as **Sign-up link** on the product's **Settings** tab. - "Invite links aren't set up yet." Whoever runs your YouGrow needs to set them up. [Invite your waitlist](https://yougrow.ai/help/invite-your-waitlist.md). ## My journey won't publish The list of things to fix, above the tabs, says why. The usual ones: - "An email shows the onboarding checklist or next step, but this product has no onboarding steps yet." Add steps with [Learn from repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md), then make a new journey from the template. - "Add at least one email." Add an email on the Canvas tab. - "Add at least one branch." or "Connect every branch to a next step." Finish each split on the Canvas tab. ## Nobody joins my journey - **Not published, or paused.** Press **Publish**, or **Resume**. - **Test mode.** Only listed test users join. Add them on the **Delivery** tab, or switch to shadow or live. - **Signed up too long ago.** It only takes people who signed up in the last 72 hours. Raise **Ignore events older than (hours)** on its **Settings** tab, up to 720. - **Already been through it.** Each person joins a sign-up journey once. - **No sign-up sent.** If the product's **Events** tab doesn't show them, your app hasn't sent their sign-up. [Publish it in test mode](https://yougrow.ai/help/onboarding-journeys.md). ## Only the welcome email arrives The welcome is a service email. The rest are marketing, and they need the consent your app sends at sign-up. Without it, they don't go out, and the person's page says "Service emails only". Ask your developer to send consent: [sending users](https://yougrow.ai/developers/users.md). ## The buttons in my emails don't go anywhere Your steps have no links, or the links aren't on your app's domain. Run [Learn from repo](https://yougrow.ai/help/connect-your-product.md) again, fill in **Your app's web address** and tick the steps again. Or give each step a full link on the **Catalog** tab, with its domain in **Allowed link domains** on the **Settings** tab. ## I can't switch a journey to live Live needs a From address on a verified sending domain, and marketing emails also need your postal address. Add both in [Settings › Sending](https://yougrow.ai/admin/account). If the **Delivery** tab says this environment only allows test or shadow, whoever runs your YouGrow must raise it. ## An AI line didn't go out Usually nobody approved it in time, so the email went out in its standard wording. Approve lines in [Review](https://yougrow.ai/admin/approvals) well before they're due. Ones too close to their send time can't be approved.
